The Blues Blog Hop

Welcome, hoppers! This month we are featuring Club Scrap's May 2015 kit, The Blues. If you got here from Annette's blog, Digital Musings, you are at the final blog of the hop. To return to the beginning and see the list of all the bloggers this month, go to the Club Scrap Blog.

This month, I have a simple home decor project made with a 6x6 canvas and items from The Blues collection. This project only took about an hour to make. I think the longest part was trying to find some music-related stickers in my sticker stash!

This has several layers of paper and some textural elements. My favorite layer is a trio of circle collage stamps from the Collection unmounted sheet. It's stamped three times on the beautiful smooth white paper--perfect for stamping!

The focal point of the piece is from a sheet of cutaparts in the Embellishment pack. Cutaparts are wonderful pieces of artwork--they really enhance the collection! I enjoy dressing them up a bit; this time I distressed the edges and added some music note stickers from my stash to add a couple more textures.

The collection contains several sets of silver charms--music notes, guitars, and treble clefs. Attached with a brad, the charm adds another tactile element.

I wrapped the edges of the canvas with the light blue ribbon from the Embellishment pack and added a bow of navy blue satin ribbon to the top. Additional textures. :-)

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I hope you enjoyed my project and found some inspiration from all the wonderful and creative projects shared this month. Again, to return to the beginning of the hop, click HERE for the Club Scrap blog.

Until next time,

Lisa Kay

Homestead Blog Hop

Welcome to the October 2014 Club Scrap blog hop featuring the Homestead collection!
If you got here from Tiare's blog, you are on the right path. To start at the beginning (and to see the list of bloggers), head over to the new Club Scrap blog.

I created one little card for this month's hop. It's the only thing I've created with the gorgeous and down-to-earth Homestead collection, but I've got lots of ideas for more cards and projects.

For inspiration for a card to make, I checked out the amazing "please inspire me!" site, Pinterest, and searched for "ribbon" and "cards." I created a board with my favorite uses of ribbons on cards. And here is the card I created:

I started with one of my favorite Spellbinders dies (I'll use the die cut on another project).

And on the reverse of the card panel, I started attaching ribbon strips. I found it best to add adhesive around the shape plus use tape to secure the ends.
Here's the back side of the panel with all the ribbon secured.

And this is what the front looks like.

Again, here's my finished card. I will definitely be doing this technique again with other dies and my extensive stash of ribbon!

Thanks for taking a look at my blog today. The next stop on the hop is Marya's blog. If you want to see the list of bloggers, return to the Club Scrap blog.  Until next time, Happy Fall, Y'all!!

Card Box Using Versailles

Last week, Club Scrap featured a quick project on their blog--a case to hold a set of eight greeting cards. It's a great gift idea! You can see the pics, instructions, and video tutorial here.

I haven't made the cards to go in mine, yet, but here is the card case. It's made from the kit called Versailles.

I only used two sheets of 12x12 paper--cream and blue with a silver print. The envelope wrap and stamp pocket on the inside were stamped with some of the Versailles unmounted stamps. (The ribbon closure is from an older kit called Ivory Elegance.)

This really was a fun and quick project. I'm going to make some cards to put in the pocket, and I'll be making some of these using other kits, too!
